Ministry: Congregational Care
Arrived at AUMC: 1991
Favorite scripture verse: "You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other." ~John 15:14-17
Words to live by: Perspective can change your whole day.
Family members: Husband George, son Brian (30), daughter-in-law Greer (28), grandchildren Nathaniel (7), and Rosalyn (6), son David (27)
Hobbies, interests: Reading, writing and watching old movies
What do most people not know about you? I used to write Christian book reviews. Even though I have somewhat of a fear of water, I love water-rafting (go figure).
Who has inspired you the most in your life and why? My parents in how I live and in how I treat others. A former employer in teaching me how to set priorities.
Favorite book: The Giver, by Lois Lowry
Favorite Movie: Classic movies and any movie that makes me grin from ear to ear or that when it ends, it makes me say "Oh, wow."
Dream vacation: Having fun anywhere with all our children together
Aspiration: In defining this first-time congregational care ministry for AUMC, I hope to show God’s face and loving arms to our congregation, to our visitors and to everyone who walks through our doors.
