Connections and Covenant Groups

At Argyle UMC, we value community and authenticity. The Connections and Covenant Group is a small-group experience for those seeking Covenant Membership and/or to connect with other people and find support and encouragement as you continue to grow in your faith. This group offers you a connection with others and an opportunity to grow in God’s love and grace Join us to learn how you can participate in our mission to transform our world one relationship at a time by taking the next step along the path as a follower of Jesus Christ. Whether you’ve been visiting for weeks, attending for months, or involved for years, you are invited to join us!

Childcare is available through registration.

What’s Next? Covenant Celebration Sunday
To become a member, you will attend a Connections and Covenant Group, acknowledge a commitment to our church, and be baptized if you have not been before. Covenant Sunday is a Sunday following a Connections Group where the Pastor introduces anyone from the group that is interested in being recognized to the congregation. For more information or questions, contact Pastor Chris Schoolcraft.

The Sacrament of Baptism, as understood by United Methodists, is an act that looks back with gratitude on what God’s grace has already accomplished, that is also fully present now, and looks forward to what God’s grace will accomplish in the future. Baptism anticipates a lifetime of further and deeper experiences of God, further acts of Christian commitment, and ministries in the world.

United Methodists recognize that persons of any age are suitable candidates for baptism because Christ’s body, the Church, is a great family that includes persons of all ages. The infant being presented for baptism and the adult seeking baptism have more in common, spiritually speaking, than may at first appear. God’s grace has taken the initiative and is already at work in the lives of both. We call this “prevenient grace.”

Those baptized before they are old enough to take the vows for themselves make their personal profession of faith in a service later in life called Confirmation.

To schedule your baptism, please fill out this form and a Pastor will be in touch with to continue your journey towards baptism. If you have any questions, contact Valerie Donahue at or Pastor Chris Schoolcraft at
